Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

What does the medication actually cost?

Your private telehealth consultation with Dr. Bartemus is $69. If you proceed with treatment, that consultation fee is applied toward your program.

Current telehealth GLP-1 programs range from $399 for a one-month program to $1,099 for a three-month program, depending on medication and program length. You will review the exact cost before choosing whether to begin treatment.

What happens if I'm not a candidate for treatment?

If Dr. Bartemus determines that GLP-1 therapy is not clinically appropriate for you, he will explain why and discuss other options when appropriate.

The consultation is still a real one-on-one medical visit. A prescription is never guaranteed, and treatment decisions are based on your health history, goals, current medications, and medical suitability.

Am I a candidate for GLP-1 medications?

Many patients qualify with a BMI of 27 or higher with at least one weight-related health condition, or a BMI of 30 or higher on its own.

Dr. Bartemus reviews your full medical picture during the consultation, including any conditions or medications that might affect treatment, to determine the safest and most appropriate path.

Is this safe?

Every patient is evaluated one-on-one by Dr. Bartemus. Medication is prescribed only when clinically appropriate, and you receive ongoing physician support throughout your program.

Common side effects can include nausea, fatigue, constipation, reflux, or other digestive changes. Dr. Bartemus and his team are available to help adjust your plan if side effects occur.

How quickly will I see results?

Some patients notice appetite changes within the first few weeks, while weight loss typically develops gradually over time.

Results vary based on your starting health, medication, dose, nutrition, activity level, and consistency with the program. Dr. Bartemus tracks progress and adjusts care when appropriate.

Which states does Dr. Bartemus serve?

Dr. Bartemus is a licensed Florida physician and currently provides telehealth consultations to patients located in Florida.

If you are outside Florida, please do not book a telehealth consultation through this page. We cannot provide telehealth GLP-1 treatment to patients located outside Florida.

How does the video visit work? Do I need to download anything?

No downloads or apps are required. After you book, you will receive a secure link by email. At appointment time, click the link from your phone, tablet, or computer.

Your visit is private and conducted through a secure telehealth platform.

Is my medical information kept private?

Yes. Your consultation and medical records are protected under HIPAA. Your information is not sold and is not shared outside your care team without your permission, except as allowed or required by law.

What if I have side effects after starting medication?

You are not on your own. Dr. Bartemus's office is available for follow-up if you have concerns, side effects, or questions about dosing.

For urgent medical concerns, call (352) 243-5673 or seek emergency care immediately.
